As individuals we are unique. Our perception of how we see the world, others and ourselves is often associated by how we think, feel and behave.
As a result of the personal experiences in growing up, these experiences has led towards our personality, characteristics and rules for everyday living.
As we travel through life, we think about and towards circumstances and our environmental situation. Over time these become automatic responses.
In our day to day experiences some of our automatic thoughts/responses can have a negative uncomfortable result. As with a positive result, we appear to live quite effectively with. Negative automatic thoughts often have similar negative feelings and emotions such as being anxious or irritable.
An attempt or focus will then be made to explore by asking you how things were whilst growing up. To establish what sort of thoughts appear when you feel negative.
Our perception of our world view is learned behaviour, the way we think affects the way we feel and that also connects to our physical behaviour.
Therapy is about looking for themes or patterns that make us unique. Whilst looking for such connections, focus can then be made in a collaborative manner to change these perceptions that cause us problems.
